Ladies! Why are we different? ...... What makes Girls-U-Want different? Where do we begin?!
Let's start with some basics. These are just a random selection of model-related Q&A's. There will be a more detailed FAQ on the site when we launch.
1. Q: Do I have to get naked?
A: Yes. Exposed breasts and bottoms are mandatory. However, we ask that you keep it tasteful. We are not looking for spread eagles, gyno exams or simulated sex acts. Full frontal is not absolutely necessary but not discouraged either!
2. Q: What is a photoset?
A: For our purposes, a photoset should consist of approximately 40 - 60 photos, with 35 being the absolute minimum. Sets with less than 35 will not be considered. You are free to exceed 60 photos if necessary. Like many other alt-erotica sites, it should be a striptease, starting clothed (to some degree or another) and ending in full nudity. We suggest nudity should begin on or around photo #10, though this is not to be considered a rigid formula. For best results, at least half of your set should be nude or partially nude. And the shorter your set, the sooner you should bring on the goodies!
3. Q: Will I be paid for my photosets?
A: Yes, absolutely. However, as a small independent start-up, our pockets are currently not as deep as some of the larger, more established sites. What we propose is a royalty-based, per-positive comment payment system. Initially this payment might be as low as 10 cents per comment, but do the math - a photoset with 100 comments has just earned $10...a set with 200 comments has earned $20, and so on. That might not seem like a lot of money, and honestly it isn't, but currently girls by the thousands are sending in some quality photosets to some of the larger alt sites and receiving ZERO in return. ZERO. Isn't $20 better than NOTHING?! We think so. And as we grow, we will be able to raise that per-comment amount. (Each unique user is good for one point per set but is free to leave multiple comments).
4. Q: Will Girls-U-Want have a featured "Set of the Day"?
A: Yes and no. We have determined that for our initial start-up, we will only be able to have a featured "Set of the Week", for which the model will receive a flat rate of $50. Eventually that will become our "Set of the Day". The models will receive $50 for these as well, and we hope to be able to increase this amount by the end of our first year. Hopefully. At least that's the goal. These payments will be in addition to the model's per-comment payments.
5. Q: Does that mean you only have one new set per week?! WTF?! Who's gonna be interested in that?!
A: Hold on. That's not what we're saying. Of course there will be new sets daily! It's just that we simply can't afford to pay $50 to a new model every single day at the beginning of all this. That is why it has to start with "Set of the Week". We must crawl before we can walk. But all accepted sets will qualify for the per-comment payment system the minute they go live! And we hope to be able to feature everyone on the site at some point or other.
6. Q: How and when will I be paid?
A: We intend to issue per-comment payments quarterly. Every three months you will receive a check from Girls-U-Want for the amount due from that period. And "Set of the Week" winners will receive their $50 within one month of being selected.
7. Q: Is there a "title" of some kind that comes with winning "Set of the Week/Day"?
A: Not really. We like to think of all of our models as Wanted Girls cuz it sounds kinda outlaw and it's also totally true! I mean, look at 'em! But seriously, there will not be a two-tier system at GUW. All of our models are equals. Some have been "featured" and other have not....yet.
8. Q: How will Girls-U-Want select favorite sets?
A: It will be a combination of our staff's opinions as well as that of our members based on their comments. We will be considering quality of comments over quantity as well. This will not be a popularity contest like you might have experienced in high school or on better known alt-erotica sites. We will be looking for creativity, originality, and an artistic eye (ie: good use of colors, setting, wardrobe, themes, etc).
9. Q: Will my pictures only be on Girls-U-Want or will they also be elsewhere on the internet?
A: Girls-U-Want will NEVER sell or license your photos to a third party site or publication without your written permission. Your content will be EXCLUSIVE to Girls-U-Want unless you choose to display them elsewhere. (However, any "featured" sets must remain exclusive to GUW during the two-year licensing period.)
10. Q: If I send in a photoset, who actually owns the photos?
A: You do. You always will. If your set is a Featured set, we will "rent" the images from you for a period of two years. We ask that while your photos are licensed to GUW that they will be our exclusive content. If you choose to remove your photos after the licensing agreement expires, you are free to use them wherever else you choose. Or you can choose to leave them on our site and continue to collect per-comment payments.
11. Q: Why is that important?
A: Many of the other alt-erotica sites pay you a small fee in order to own your photos in perpetuity. That means FOR LIFE. Read that again - FOR LIFE. That's a long time for you not to have control over your own images/creations.
12. Can I remove my photos if I want to?
If your set has not been featured yet and is collecting per-comment point payments only, you are free to remove or edit it at any time. Complete removal will only result in cessation of per-comment payments. That's it. All live sets must have a minimum of 35 pics (of you, silly) to qualify for per-comment payments. Please keep this in mind should you edit a live set. Also we ask that you contact staff to delete an entire set. We won't stop you if you've made up your mind...unless of course the set has been featured and is under the two-year licensing agreement....but we reserve the right to try to convince you to leave your set on the site if we like it a whole bunch! Deal?
*NOTE: If you only have one set on the site that hasn't been chosen as a featured set and you delete it, you will have 90 days to submit a new set before losing model status and your membership reverts to a paid subscription.
13. Can I model for other sites?
You can do whatever you want to do. We do not own you. However, we do insist that you do not use any photosets you may have on GUW elsewhere simultaneously. That said, we cannot promise that certain other sites might not have a problem with you modeling for us.
14. Q: What are your photographic requirements?
A: In order to keep Girls-U-Want indie and DIY, we will not require any model to shoot with staff or professional photographers. We want to see what you can come up with on your own or with your own creative team. That said, we will have a certain level of quality we expect. A professional quality DSLR camera is not necessary. A great set can be shot with a "point & shoot". We've seen them, so we know it can be done. There will be examples of what we expect in photographic quality on the site when we launch, including both "point & shoot" and DSLR photos we feel meet or exceed minimum requirements. Sorry, no camera-phone pics please.
15. Q: Do I have to have tattoos and piercings to be accepted for your site?
A: No. Nor will you be discriminated against if you do. We're looking for girls who are not only "alternative" in appearance, but also and perhaps more importantly in the way they think. We're looking for beautiful bodies and beautiful minds. We do not believe the two are mutually exclusive.
16. Q: Will Girls-U-Want be a social-networking site like MySpace, Facebook, etc.?
A: Yes, only better cuz we'll also have hot naked girls! Yay boobies!
17. Q: So why are you starting this site when so many other similar sites already exist?
A: At Girls-U-Want, our main reason for existing is to provide a place where a girl can live out the fantasy of being a sexy nude pin-up model, on her own terms, in a safe and respectful virtual environment. It is key that our girls feel as good about themselves as possible at all times. This will only make for better photosets and a more harmonious atmosphere in general. And if our girls are happy then they will want to make our members happy...and that makes us happy! Yes, we'd all like to make some money at this as well, but community and empowerment will be at the forefront of every decision we make.
